ABOUT
Deck the Stalls is a one woman anti-panto. It follows Serena at her office Christmas party struggling to deal with the first Christmas since her dad passed away.
Lydia began writing the show in October 2021. The original monologue was about 15 minutes long and featured a girl sitting on the toilet, talking about her terrible office Christmas party. After some development, the monologue was accepted into a new writing night with Yellow Coat Theatre.
That's where Laura, Lydia and I met. After the performance, we kept meeting up and developing the piece. We did a 35-minute work-in-progress version at the Drayton Arms and Hope theatre in 2022.
The show later evolved into a full 60-minute production for the Wandsworth Fringe Festival in 2023, where it won the Laugh Out Loud Award. The show performed at the Riverside Theatre in Hammersmith for a week.
